G. Marimuthu was born and reared in Pasumalaitheri, Theni, and his rise to fame was nothing short of extraordinary. He ran away from home at an early age, determined to make his mark in the Tamil cinema business. His first job in the profession was as an assistant to the famed lyricist Vairamuthu. These opportunities provided a fantastic learning environment for him, fostering his gifts and honing his skills. His big break came when he was hired as a co-director on Silambarasan’s ‘Manmadhan,’ an important turning point that launched his career in the industry.

Marimuthu achieved his aim of becoming a filmmaker in 1990 with the film ‘Kannum Kannum,’ starring Prasanna and Udhayathara. While the film did not set the box office on fire, it did herald the beginning of his directing career. His contribution to the industry included films like ‘Pulivaal,’ which was released in 2014 and demonstrated his dedication to storytelling and filmmaking.
