Filmfare gives you a sneak peek of the biggest award night in Bollywood of the year in its April edition
The 66th Vimal Elaichi Filmfare Awards this year, commemorating talents and incredible performances of 2020, was a star-studded extravaganza. It was a ceremony dotted with several special moments. The April issue of Filmfare lets you overdose on the fun.
To begin with, the cover features the three big winners of the evening, Taapsee Pannu (Best actress for Thappad), Tilottama Shome (Critics-Best Actress award for Sir) and Alaya F (Female Debut for Jawaani Jaaneman). The three gorgeous powerhouse performers along with the Black Lady screams female power. A look at the cover brings back memories of Tilottama talking about feeling like a debutante even after being a part of the industry for two decades or that of Alaya going all emotional receiving the honour from her towering grandfather Kabir Bedi. Taapsee on the other hand, dedicated her award to the other women of substance who were nominated in her category. She also thanked director Anubhav Sinha for making a path-breaking film.
The issue also throws light on how the stars dazzled the night with utmost style and panache. Well, apart from winning hearts with their red-carpet look, celebrities Ayushmann Khurrana, Nora Fatehi, Sara Ali Khan, Sunny Leone, Urvashi Rautela, Prateek Gandhi, Mithila Palkar, Rajat Barmecha, Jaideep Ahlawat, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anubhav Sinha, Bhushan Kumar, Sanjana Sanghi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Aahana Kumra, Anupriya Goenka, Sonali Sehgal, Elnaaz Norouzi, Amaal Malik, Vardhan Puri among others, spoke about why being a part of Filmfare awards is an essential ritual and what makes the occasion extraordinary.
The trio of the evening who also held the audience’s attention were none other than the incredible hosts Rajkummar Rao, Riteish Deshmukh and Maniesh Paul. Maniesh’s impromptu banter with Sunny Leone, him making Anurag Basu and Tamannaah show off their dancing skills had the audience in splits.
