India Is Suffering, We Need Vaccines Says Priyanka Chopra Urging US President To Help

Global Icon Priyanka Chopra has reached out to US President Joe Biden, and other US government officials to help India in its fight against COVID-19. In a tweet posted from her official handle, the actress appealed to the government officials to ‘share vaccines’ as “the situation in my country is critical.”

Highlighting that the US ordered about 550 million more than needed, she wrote in her tweet, “My heart breaks. India is suffering from COVID19 & the US has ordered 550M more vaccines than needed @POTUS @WHCOS @SecBlinken @JakeSullivan46 Thx for sharing AstraZeneca worldwide, but the situation in my country is critical. Will you urgently share vaccines w/ India? #vaxlive”

Meanwhile, the global sensation has recently announced her partnership with UNICEF as a vaccine champion this World Immunization Week where she will ‘encourage people to take action and get themselves inoculated.’

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra is busy shooting for Citadel, a Prime Video’s thriller series also starring Richard Madden.

Chopra will next lead the romantic drama Text for You opposite Sam Heughan and Celine Dion and has been cast in an undisclosed role in Matrix.

Chopra has committed to star alongside Mindy Kaling in a comedy about an Indian-American wedding.
