Since getting married, Meera Jasmine has taken a long break from acting. And word is getting out that she is at last returning to the big screen. Is Meera Jasmine back to acting?
Bilingual Film Vimanam:
The Telugu cinema industry is about to welcome back Meera Jasmine. With a new bilingual film Vimanam, the actress who last appeared in 2013, will make a comeback. Her 40th birthday was on February 15, and the movie’s creators posted a photo of her to convey the exciting news.
The movie’s producer, Zed Studios, tweeted a poster to mark the actress’s ten-year comeback. The message on Twitter read, “She’s back people! Wishing the ever-charming Meera Jasmine a very happy birthday. After a decade she will grace our screens with her presence in Vimanam. Our Next Telugu-Tamil bilingual film in association with KK Creative Work. And we know she will be better than ever.”
It appears that in this one, the actress will play a performance-driven, somewhat glamorous part. Samuthirakani was also enrolled to take on a significant part in the movie alongside Meera Jasmine. The creators have not yet made any other announcements on Vimanam.

Back to Tamil Film Industry:
Other than Vijay-Simran and Asin-Suriya, Meera Jasmine and Madhavan from Run (2002) may be one of Tamil Nadu’s top on-screen couples among millennials. Run was Meera Jasmine’s first Tamil-language movie. Even Mani Ratnam, who brought them together for the movie Aayutha Ezhuthu (Yuva in Hindi), appeared to enjoy their chemistry.
Meera has been absent from Tamil cinema for the past nine years whereas Madhavan has remained in the industry. She is currently making films in Tamil once more. For the movie Test, which marks producer Sashikanth’s directorial debut, she will collaborate alongside Madhavan. With Makal, which starred Jayaram in the main role, Meera made a comeback to the Malayalam screen last year. In terms of box office success, the film was a disappointment.
Posting her excitement about her return to Tamil, Meera Jasmine stated on Instagram, “There is something so fulfilling about returning to familiar spaces and people that remain unchanged amidst all the transformations. So honoured to be joining hands with @actormaddy @worldofsiddharth #Nayanthara for @sash041075 @studiosynot for TEST.
The movie also features Nayanthara and Siddharth in addition to Meera Jasmine and Madhavan. Shakthisree Gopalan, a vocalist, makes her feature film debut as a composer in this film. Test is a movie on the game of cricket, as is clear from the motion picture poster and title. But the story and other specifics of the movie are yet unknown. The movie is already in the process of being filmed.
About the actress:
In 2001, Meera got her debut as an actress in the Lohithadas movie Soothradharan. As one of the most viable and notable actresses of the 2000s, she went on to appear in a number of popular South Indian language films. With her role in the Tamil film Run, which was subsequently dubbed in Telugu, Meera Jasmine gained notoriety. She then went on to co-star with other well-known actors in hit films. Some of them include Sivaji’s Ammayi Bagundi, Bhadra from Ravi Teja’s Gudumba Shankar, and more. Her most well-known Telugu films include Maa Ayana Chanti Pilladu, Gorintaku, Yamagola Malli Modalayindi, and Raraju.
In Tamil cinema, she had her last appearance in Vingyani (2014), and in Telugu, she last appeared in Moksha (2013). Meera took a hiatus from acting in 2014 and wed Mandolin Rajesh. We are thrilled that she is returning to acting almost a decade later.
