Mudda 370 J&K – A Compelling Film

‘Mudda370 J&K’ narrates the story of a Kashmiri Pundit Boy falling in love with a Kashmiri Muslim Girl – a young and beautiful couple who wants to live their life in peace and raise a family – but unfortunately they soon realize there is more than meets the eye when the caste disparities, communal disharmony and Article 370 of Indian constitution pose some serious threats to their lives.

The film is high on theatrics, with the background score fitting perfectly with the narrative. Director Rakesh Sawant, has created a powerful depiction of issues corroding the country, leaves no stone unturned to provoke the audience to look deeper.

Mudda 370 J&K is not a light watch. It will make you squirm in your seat as it depicts the systematic break down of society in Jammu and Kashmir. The caste issue, religious fanatics, terrorism, lack of freedom, second rated treatment from the constitution, oppression of women and the list is long; all the real issues are dealth with utmost honesty. The cinematography is top notch and some poignant moments will leave you with goose-bumps. The film may seem preachy to some, but the well fleshed out characters take the narrative ahead smoothly.

Hiten Tejwani shines in his role, putting forth a riveting performance. One can relate to his character of a man torn between family and love, and how circumstances lead him to bitter end. Mudda 370 J&K is a compelling movie you shouldn’t miss.

The movie has a stellar supporting star cast – Manoj Joshi, Raj Zutshi, Zarina Wahab, Pankaj Dheer, Anita Raj, Mohan Kapoor, Sujata Mehta, Anjali Pandey, Tanvi Tondon and Rakhi Sawant.

Rakhi Sawant sticks with her routine number, which is crooned by Legend Asha Bhosle.

The composers of this film are Syed Ahmed, Sahil Multi Khan and Rahul Bhatt, while the lyrics are penned by Nisar Akhtar, Seema Bhatt, Shahid Anjum. The film has singers Shaan, Palak Muchhal, Asees Kaur, Shahid Mallya, Mudasar Ali.

The film is produced by Avani Kamal, Dr Atul Krishna and Bhanwar Singh Pundeer under Subharti Media Ltd. in collaboration with Jayas Films.
