After dating for seven years, Kollywood’s dream couple #WikkiNayan: Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan tied the knot at a private resort on ECR near Mahabalipuram on June 9, 2022. The wedding was attended by the couple’s family and close friends and the big stars of the Indian Film Industry.

The Royal Wedding:
The wedding venue was close to the beach in a glass-house setup. It was a 2-day celebration which started with Haldi and Sangeet on June 8th and the wedding took place on June 9th with close to 150 guests.
Director Vignesh Shivan took to his social media before the wedding and wrote, “Today is June 9th and it’s Nayan’s…Thanking God, the universe, the Good will from all the lovely human beings who have crossed My life!! Every good soul, every good moment, every good coincidence, every good blessing, everyday at shooting and every prayer that has made life this beautiful! I owe it all to the good manifestations & prayers! Now , It’s all dedicated to the love of my life ! #Nayanthara! My #Thangamey ! Excited to see u walking up the aisle in a few hours! Nayanthara’s Regal Look:
Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan looked jaw-dropping in their fairy-tale wedding. #WikkiNayan’s pictures have left fashion lovers smitten. Nayan and Wikki wore custom-made ensembles by Indian Designers Monica and Karishma’s fashion label. For her wedding, Nayanthara donned a handcrafted saree in vermillion red colour with intricate embroidery that was inspired by the carvings of the temples of Hoysala.
The actress’s love for tradition was incorporated into the designs of her saree. The designers included Goddess Lakshmi motifs as bajubandh on the sleeves of the blouse. The couple’s names were included in the fourth row of the saree symbolising commitment, togetherness and the love that they have for each other.

The actress opted for contrasting emerald green jewellery to go with her stunning red saree. She accessorised her look with an emerald choker, a polki and a large Russian Tumble necklace, along with a Satlada that is a seven-stringed pearl necklace. Her Satlada consisted of seven lines of diamonds, rose cuts, polki and emeralds. She wore polki and Cabochon emerald stud earrings and an emerald and diamond mang tikka to complete her look and the actress looked nothing less than a royal queen. All of the actress’s jewellery is credited to Goenka India.
When it came to make-up and hair, the actress kept it classic and minimalist. She had a mid-parted sleek-looking bun with beautiful flowers. The make-up consisted of the signature Nayanthara’s eyebrows and kohl rimmed eyes, glittery rust eyeshadow, with blushed and highlighted cheeks, nude pink lipstick and a red bindi to tie it all together. The actress had a beautiful mandala Mehendi with their initials ‘N and W’ with a classic minimalistic manicure.
Vignesh Shivan’s Dapper Look:
Vignesh Shivan’s ensemble was inspired by the four pheras signifying dharma, arth, kama and moksha. The filmmaker looked dashing in a fusion costume. He wore a kurta with veshti and shawl which were also handcrafted.

A Star Studded Wedding:
Major stars of the Indian Film Industry attended the couple’s wedding. Actors Rajinikanth, Sarath Kumar and Radhikaa, Suriya, Jyotika, Karthi, Shalini Ajith, Vijay Sethupathi, Khushbu, Preetha Hari, Vikram Prabhu, SJ Suryah, composers AR Rahman, Anirudh and his family, director Mani Rathnam, KS Ravikumar, Vijay, Mohan Raja, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Producers Boney Kapoor and Archana Kalpathi graced the occasion.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan also attended the wedding. Atlee, who’s making his Bollywood debut with SRK’s Jawan with Nayanthara in the lead also joined the actor. Some sources reveal that Shah Rukh Khan wished the couple well and was present throughout the ceremony. After the bride and groom completed the post-wedding rituals, he joined them for lunch.
