Reimagining the Past: Nithiya Menen Transforms into Charulata

The talented actress Nithiya Menen transforms into Charulata from an esteemed filmmaker, Satyajit Ray’s 1964 drama. It is a Bengali language drama which is based on the novel, Nastanirh by Rabindranath Tagore. Known to be one of the classic masterpieces of Indian Cinema, Charulata is a retelling of Tagore’s story. The actress shared a series of pictures on her official Instagram handle. She looked classic and valiant as she transformed into Charulata from Ray’s classic.

The ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ actress looks beautiful in a saree outfit. She flaunts a red and white combination of saree and collar neck blouse. Menen accessorizes her outfit with white and red bangles, nose chain, and earrings. She even opts for nostalgic mehendi design on her hands and feet. When it comes to makeup, the actress chooses minimal makeup with smokey eyes and a simple bun hairdo. With red bindi, she completes her look while transforming into Ray’s Charulata.

Menen dropped the aesthetic pictures she posed with lotus, captioning them, “Charulata, Indian drama film written and directed by Satyajit Ray. Based upon the novel Nastanirh by Rabindranath Tagore. Reimagine is an attempt to take a fresh look at the character and spinning a new story out of it. But all are re-interpretations with an intriguing approach while retaining the visual essence of the original works.”

The actress truly captured the essence of the classic work. She even explained it as an attempt to give a new story to the vintage character.
