Actor Anupam Kher has joined the jury of BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Breakthrough India.
Anupam Kher took to his social media profile and dropped the confirmation on his latest achievement. He also unveiled the whole jury of the awards that include, Krishnendu Majumdar, Monika Shergill, Shonali Bose, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Charu Desodt AR Rahman and Mira Nair.
He captioned the post, “Thrilled to be a part of the inaugural @bafta Breakthrough India Jury! Can’t wait for you to see the incredible talent we had the privilege of choosing who will be announced in early May. Breakthrough India is supported by @netflix ! Jai Ho! #BAFTABreakthrough @netflix_in”
The initiative aims to identify, celebrate, and support up to five exceptional talents working in film, games or television in India. The winners selected by the jury will receive a year-long programme of support from BAFTA with connections to the British creative industries.
Meanwhile on the work front, Anupam Kher is busy with The Kashmir Files’ which is an upcoming social drama written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, also starring Mithun Chakraborty. The film is scheduled to release on 15 August 2021. The film tells the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.
