Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru Concludes #WeAreBhartiya With A Grand Independence Day Celebration

Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru concluded its month-long #WeAreBhartiya campaign with a grand Independence Day celebration on 15th August, bringing together India’s diverse cultural traditions through music, dance, storytelling and theatre.

Celebrating the many cultures and traditions that shape India, the campaign offered visitors an opportunity to experience the country’s rich regional heritage under one roof. Across four weekends, the mall presented a vibrant line-up of folk and classical performances representing different parts of the country. The programme featured Rajasthan’s Ghoomar, Maharashtra’s Lavani, Punjab’s Bhangra, Assam’s Bihu, Karnataka’s Dollu Kunitha, Tamil Nadu’s Bharatanatyam and Kerala’s Mohiniyattam, alongside Kashmiri and Northeast folk dances, Odissi and Sambalpuri performances from Odisha, Bengali folk dance, and traditional attire showcases from Himachal Pradesh and Haryana.

The celebrations culminated on Independence Day with a theatrical presentation tracing India’s evolution through time. Through a blend of dance, music, costumes and storytelling, the performance took audiences on a journey from ancient civilisations and great empires to the freedom movement and India’s journey after Independence. The showcase also explored themes of women’s empowerment, progress and India’s evolution as a vibrant democracy.

The Independence Day programme featured the theatrical showcase, freestyle dance, a Kathak performance and live music, creating a vibrant celebration of India’s past, present and future. A high-energy flash mob featuring 253+ participants added to the festivities and brought visitors together in a collective expression of national pride.

The theatrical presentation culminated in a powerful Bharat Mata entry, followed by a musical tribute to the spirit of a united India, bringing the month-long celebrations to a memorable close.

Through #WeAreBhartiya, Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru created a space for people across age groups to experience, discover and celebrate India’s cultural heritage. By bringing together traditions from different regions, the campaign highlighted not only the diversity of India, but also the shared sense of unity and belonging that connects us all.
