International Yoga Day 2022: The Healthy Life

International Yoga Day, observed every year on June 21, honours the body and soul strength that yoga has offered towards the rest of the world. It is a good resource of exercise and healthful activity that millions of people participate in and practise on a regular basis. Many people see these activities as a method to reconnect the physical, mind, and spirit in a way that has been for ages.

International Yoga Day

People all over the world are getting ready to roll down their yoga mats and begin practising in honour of International Yoga Day, but they may be unaware that yoga dates all the way back centuries.

Yoga is thought to have been an ancient discipline that originated in India 5,000 years ago. Yoga was created as a technique to link one’s mind, body, and spirit in order to go near to awakening. As when the technique gained popularity in the West, it was promoted as an exercise and meditation approach, with promises that it could improve the body’s natural overall well-being, relieve physical problems, and relieve chronic pain.

This concept of International Yoga Day had first been presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 27, 2014, following his talk at the General Assembly Of The united. And that is where India’s Minister, Asoke Kumar Mukerji, sponsored a proposal to declare June 21 as International Yoga Day.

The day of June 21 was chosen since it is the Summer Solstice, a day with the maximum sunlight of every year. Ultimately, it got a lot of support from 177 countries, the most for any UN resolution declaring June 21 as International Yoga Day.

Because International Yoga Day would be a new celebration, there seem to be no time-honoured rituals. However, yoga is really an old art form which cleanses your mind and comforts the soul. The purpose of the day is to allow new people to accept the yoga practice and connect with their spiritual chakra.

Beginners enrol in yoga and construct their own sequence of movements to their preferred calming audio. While beginning yoga, new mats and meditation clothes are purchased. Those who are otherwise proficient in yoga experiment with new combinations and offer them to their friends. Educators also provide special group yoga classes.

Here are some of the best health benefits of practising yoga you should know about:
It makes you want to exercise regularly

If you’re a novice to exercising or returning to a training regimen after a break, the strenuous activity would not seem tempting. This is why so many people who want to exercise regularly choose yoga. It is just a low-impact activity that’s gentle on the muscles, suitable for people of all levels of fitness, and doesn’t require any specialised equipment. All this promotes yoga, the kind of workout that you are most likely to continue with and practise on a regular basis.

It improves your body flexibility

As per the American College of Sports Medicine, agility is the ability of your muscles to expand or stretch. Yoga increases flexibility by simply relaxing your joints through stretching exercises.

Yoga also helps in improving your focus

Maintaining a yoga stance properly requires a combination of focus and endurance. You need concentration to bring your body further into a pose, and endurance to hold it for the time allotted. This combination could help you not just to improve your yoga skills, but also enhances your ability to focus on other challenging situations in your daily life.

It helps with fatigue

Whenever you move, including by practising yoga stretches throughout the day, your heart circulates more oxygen-rich blood to your muscles and glands. This could aid in the reduction of fatigue and exhaustion. Inversion positions, in which your heart is elevated than your head, maybe especially beneficial for generating energy. Forward Fold and Downward Facing Dog are examples of these positions.
