The Spotted Deer at The Palomar by Crossway Gears Up for a Power-Packed 16th Edition of Brutal Carnage
The Spotted Deer at Hotel Palomar continues to cement its position as the epicentre of Chennai’s metal scene, hosting the 16th edition of Brutal Carnage on August 1st. Presented by Metal Chennai and powered by The MK Network, the latest edition of the city’s longest-running underground metal series brings together artists who have helped shape Chennai’s heavy music community over the years.
Headlining the evening are Trivandrum’s CHAOS, returning to Chennai to launch their new album, Bane of Humanity. Fresh off their recent European tour, the band returns to Brutal Carnage after fifteen editions, having headlined the very first edition of the festival. Their return marks a milestone for both the band and one of India’s longest-running underground metal events.
Joining them are local progressive metal outfit Incendarius, performing material from their recently released EP, Neural Oscillations, featuring Vachu, Boja and Nikhil.
The bill also features the farewell performance of Mangas. With Aditya Rao moving abroad for further studies, the band’s newer lineup promises a heavier, more punk-driven sound, making this a fitting send-off for one of Chennai’s familiar faces in the underground music community.
Opening the evening is Drumtoid (Srikar Varadarajan), joined by Sai Sanjit and friends.
Sixteen editions in, Brutal Carnage has established itself as one of India’s longest-running underground metal series, providing a platform for artists from Chennai and across the country. The sixteenth edition continues that legacy, bringing together musicians and audiences for a night that celebrates the music, the memories and the community that continue to define Chennai’s metal scene.
