Veteran music composer A. R. Rahman unveiled the Hindi trailer of his first production venture ‘99 Songs’ on Tuesday on social medial. The musical drama features newcomers Ehan Bhat, Tenzin Dalha, and Edilsy Varghese in lead roles.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Rahman unveiled the trailer of the film and wrote, “Here is the Hindi trailer of #99Songs releasing on 16th April 2021. https://youtu.be/htts-gjVxlU Directed by @vishweshk and featuring the talented actors @itsEhanBhat #EdilsyVargas @mkoirala @ranjitbarot @Lisaraniray”.
The trailer showcases a sensual story about art and self-discovery of a struggling singer who aspires to be a successful music composer. In the journey, he falls, rises and eventually finds his ultimate redemption in the “magic of music.”
Apart from creating music and producing, Rahman has also co-written the screenplay of ‘99 Songs’. The Oscar-winning composer is producing the film under his banner YM Movies along with Ideal Entertainment. Jio Studios is presenting it.
‘99 Songs’ premiered at the 24th Busan International Film Festival in the Open Cinema Category in 2019.
Directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy, ‘99 Songs’ also features Manisha Koirala, Lisa Ray, Aditya Seal, composer drummer Ranjit Barot, and India Ocean’s Raghu Ram in pivotal roles. The film will hit the cinemas on April 16, 2021. ‘99 Songs’ will release in three languages – Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
