Akshay Kumar And Kiara Advani Starrer Is Now Titled ‘Laxmii’

Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer Laxmii, landed into a controversy due to its title ‘Laxxmii Bomb’. As per the notice Laxmii Bomb, was being considered derogatory and offensive to Goddess Laxmi by the Hindu community.

Today the ‘Khiladi’ actor took to his Instagram handle shared the release date of the film with the new title ‘Laxmii’. Akshay in his post stated that now in every house Laxmii will arrive. Be ready with the family on 9th November.

Adding to it, Akshay shared the poster of the film with the tag line written on it First Day First show Ki Home Delivery.

Akshay wrote, “Ab harr ghar mein aayegi #Laxmii! About the controversy, the makers of the film got a legal notice from Shri Rajput Karni Sena, demanding title change. It further claimed that the makers had deliberately used the title Laxmii Bomb with the sole purpose of lowering the dignity of and to show disrespect towards the goddess. It added that the name sends out a wrong message to the society at large towards the ideology, customs, gods, and goddesses of the Hindu religion.

‘Laxmii’ is a comedy horror film written and directed by Raghava Lawrence in his Hindi directorial debut. It is a remake of the 2011 Tamil film ‘Kanchana’. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the film will not be released theatrically in India and will stream digitally on Disney+Hotstar on 9 November 2020.
