Meanwhile on the work front, Amrita Rao was last seen in biographical drama Thackeray with Nawazuddin Siddqui. The film was based on the life of Balasaheb Thackeray, the founder of the Indian political party Shiv Sena.
The actress plans to make a comeback with two projects lined-up for release, she is part of The Legend of Kunal and Satsang.
The film The Legend Of Kunal is the story of a strange and loving relationship between King Ashoka, played by Amitabh Bachchan, and his son Veera Kunal, played by Arjun Rampal. The film is set in 240 BC and starts when the emperor converted to Buddhism. Another angle to the film is Tabu’s sexual attraction towards stepson Rampal who is married to Amrita Rao, playing Kanchanmala. While Tabu plays a woman suffering from sexual despair, the two spouses, Amitabh and Amrita are silent onlookers.
