Arshad Warsi gets first shot of Covid-19 vaccine; says ‘more vaccinated people equals to less coronavirus’

Actor Arshad Warsi on Friday got vaccinated for Covid-19 prevention at a hospital in Vile Parle and shared the news on social media. Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a picture and wrote, “Vaccine lagao immunity badhao…”.

Sharing the shame photograph on Twitter he wrote, “And it is done… more vaccinated people, equals to less coronavirus…”.

Earlier this week, actors like Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Ajaz Khan, Shubhangi Atre and Ritwik Bhowmik have tested positive for the virus.

Arshad Warsi is the latest Indian film celebrity to be vaccinated after Malaika Arora, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Mohanlal, Jeetendra, Kamal Haasan, Nagarjuna, Rohit Shetty, Neena Gupta, Rakesh Roshan, Sonu Sood, Ronit Bose Roy and Johnny Lever.

Mumbai city continues to report a spike in new COVID-19 cases amid concerns over the rapid spread of the virus. On Friday, 9,200 people tested positive for the virus, taking the overall tally of cases in the city to 5,00,898. 35 people also lost their lives to the deadly virus, and with this, the toll count has increased to 11,909.

Maharashtra reported 58,993 new cases of coronavirus, which pushed its overall tally to 32,88,540, while the death of 301 patients took the death toll to 57,329.

Last year, Arshad made his digital debut with psychological thriller ‘Asur’. He was also seen in the role of a politician in film ‘Durgamati: The Myth’, which ditched traditional route of release and premiered digitally on Amazon Prime Video.

Warsi next will be seen onscreen in an action-comedy film ‘Bachchan Pandey’ which is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Pankaj Tripathi, Prateik Babbar and Abhimanyu Singh in key roles.

In the Farhad Samji directorial, Akshay Kumar plays a gangster who aspires to be an actor while Arshad Warsi plays his friend. Kriti Sanon will essay the role of a journalist who wishes to be a director.

The film will theatrically release on 26 January 2022 coinciding with Republic Day.
