Honestly, we are living in such difficult times (Covid-19) and otherwise, we used to meet you (media) on an everyday basis. As an actor, our job is to entertain people and in such period, if my film is releasing in 200 countries and if it is able to entertain people in their homes then there is nothing greater thing than that, so I am thankful for it. I don’t think we would have got better collaborate than Amazon Prime Video to release our film.”

In ‘Durgamati The Myth’, Bhumi is playing role of an IAS officer Chanchal Chauhan who is made the victim of a major conspiracy involving powerful forces. But then she gets possessed by vengeful spirit of Durgamati.

Bhumi is playing titular role in ‘Durgamati The Myth’, when asked her views about female actresses being presented as the main lead of the film, she said, “I am thankful to God that now such kinds of films (female oriented) are being made in the film industry. It is happening because of evolved people like Vikram (Malhotra) sir and Akshay (Kumar) sir who are producing this film. Earlier also, many actresses have been a part of some really good female oriented films but now I think actresses of my generation are carrying forward their legacy.”

She added, “I feel still there is a gap with when it comes to presenting female actors as the main lead of mainstream films but I am glad that day by day, it is narrowing down. We will do many more film likes these in future and it is just the beginning.”
