During the lockdown, Mouni Roy turned to Bhagwad Gita and having found its true core value, believes that it should be part of our lives because it is more than just a religious book.

Talking about her fascination and love of Bhagwad Gita, actress Mouni Roy said, “I read Bhagwad Gita Ka Saar in my childhood, but I didn’t understand it until now. See, one of my friends started studying Gita and I also joined the class, this is before lockdown, and I didn’t make many classes due to hectic schedule. But during the lockdown, I was very religious. I genuinely feel that it is more than a religious book; it is crux of life, it is eternal knowledge, and it is basic knowledge. If you have a question in your head, Gita has the answer for it”

Further adding, Mouni Roy said we live in ignorance despite having the goldmine 0f knowledge as our finger tips.

She said, “We literally live in ignorance, and we actually come from a country of all the Vedas and Upnishad, yet we don’t do anything. We’re sitting on a pile of gold mine and we don’t do anything about it”

“Entertainment industry is very stressful place, you don’t have a concept of real Saturday or Sunday, 9 to 5 job, and we’re constantly consumed in our minds and thoughts, so for sure, Gita is needed here as well, but having said that I think rural, urban, and metro and everyone is in dire need of Bhagwad Gita’s teachings” added Mouni.

Next Mouni Roy will be seen sharing screen space with Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Nagarjuna and Alia Bhatt in Ayna Mukerji’s Brahmastra.
