Alia Bhatt’s last release ‘Kalank’ didn’t fare well at the box office. The multi-starrer failed to impress the audience and the actress recently opened up about how she got passed the film’s failure. The actress was part of a panel at the Jio Mami Film Festival in Mumbai alongside Karan Johar and Kareena Kapoor.

During the conversation, when the Kalank producer asked Alia about the film and its result post-release she said it was beau Ranbir Singh’s advice that gave her the strength to go on. “Strangely, I was really ok the day it happened. I had seen the film a day before and I knew in my head what was going to happen. Though I didn’t think it will be going to be hit by a truck. Later on when I thought about it, what really broke my heart was that I always in my head had this idea that if you work really hard, it’ll always pay-off. But it didn’t. That felt scary.” The actor said she was talking to Ranbir who gave her advice which “made a lot of sense” to her.

“He said, you put in the hard work, it doesn’t have to pay-off immediately. It’ll pay off in your life, someday. That’s what it means to be a hardworking actor or a person. Someday the goodness will come to you in another film. My job is to put in the hard work. I believed in the film, it didn’t pan out the way we wanted to, I felt bad about it for a few days but I had to focus on my next.” she added.

The actress has since moved on and has been working on other projects. She will be seen next in ‘Sadak 2’. The film is a sequel to 1991 release Sadak starring Alia’s elder sister Pooja Bhatt. The film will bring back filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt as a director. It also stars, Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt, and Aditya Roy Kapur.

Kalank starring Alia, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapoor, and Kunal Kemmu was produced by Dharma Productions and released in 2019.
