Corona brought the whole world at a grind halt and the entertainment industry suffered the maximum out of it. Cinema halls were closed which eventually led to the growth of OTT Platforms. As a result, all new movies are now directly releasing over the OTT Platforms. However, a recent update has taken place and now the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has urged the central government to allow them to open the cinema halls throughout the country from August onwards.

Secretary of HRD Ministry, Amit Khare on Friday held a meeting along with the CII Media Council for the same and as per him, the final result will be declared by Home Secretary of India Mr. Ajay Bhalla.

As indicated a new policy will be adopted for the seating arrangement inside the cinema halls, adhering to which, can lead to the opening of the cinema halls from 1st or 31st August. According to this new seating arrangement, people will be allowed to sit leaving one chair empty in between and every alternate row will be left vacant. Instead of following social distancing of 2 meters, this will lead to a safe distancing of 2 yards.

While this new arrangement has not been welcomed by the owners of the cinema halls. As this will lead to filling of only 25% capacity of the entire hall which is worse than keeping them shut. The final decision regarding the same is still awaited.

But what do you think will the public be open to visiting the cinema halls once again till a vaccine arrives for Covid-19
