The series begins with 27-year-old Tanie Brar (Anya Singh) in a pub, not because she has a happening life but because she spends her weekend with her boring boss, just for the free alcohol. However, life takes a turn when she spots her former best friend Sumer Singh Dhillon (Nakuul Mehta) there. The two have a not-so happening reunion, which takes them back in time when they first met in Sumer’s home. The introduction is a little awkward because Tanie is shown in the washroom to relieve herself, whereas Sumer is shown masturbating to porn in the bathtub. After their weird meet, the two eventually become best friends. The series revolves around their crazy bond and the ups and downs in their relationship. The two are always there for each other and can discuss anything under the sun, from their first kiss to period pain.
The cast has done a great job, they show a lot of confidence. It doesn’t seem like this was made in such a small budget. Every episode will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy. The beautifully told story will make you binge-watch for sure. Hence, Never Kiss Your Best Friend provides all the entertainment of a Bollywood-ish romantic drama packaged in a web series format.
