Oats! Often we must have heard about oats and it is the healthiest grains on the earth. Doctors suggest diabetes patients intake oats or oatmeal. Oats are a gluten-free whole grain and also a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. Several studies have shown that oats and oatmeal have many health benefits and it includes weight-loss, lower blood sugar levels and also reduces the risk of heart disease. The whole form of oats takes a long time to cook and most people prefer rolled, crushed or steel-cut oats. IMPROVES CHOLESTEROL LEVELS: There are some shreds of evidence that claim oatmeal can support healthy cholesterol levels due to the presence of beta-glucan. Yes! According to the research, the beta-glucan decreases the low-density lipoprotein cholesterol or bad cholesterol but it did not affect the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol or good cholesterol.

HELPS IN DECREASING THE RISK OF CHILDHOOD ASTHMA: Asthma is known to be the most common chronic disease in kids. Since it is an inflammatory disorder of the airways, it transmits through the air. Researchers have believed that early introduction of solid foods may increase a child’s risk of developing asthma and other allergic diseases. But the early introduction of oats may actually have positive effects and protective as well. It decreases the risk of childhood asthma as per the study.
