Onam 2020: Mohanlal, Kamal Haasan, Shilpa Shetty, Amitabh Bachchan and others extend their wishes to fans

Well Known celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Mohanlal, Kamal Haasan, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Priyamani Raj and others extended their Onam wishes to their fans and followers on Monday.

Taking to twitter, Mega star Amitabh Bachchan shared a few pictures of Onam celebration, he wrote, “Happy Onam .. the harvest festival celebrated in Kerala ..”

Veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal shared an audio message wishing on the occasion of Onam on twitter, he wrote, “Happy Onam Everyone 😊 #Onam2020 #Onam”

In his audio message, Mohanlal said, “At a time when we have to maintain social distancing and remain at home, I wish everyone a happy, prosperous and above all, a healthy Onam. Please follow the government’s instructions and became part of the fight against COVID. Be brave and let’s pray together for a better tomorrow. I wish you a Happy Onam once again.”

Veteran South Indian actor Kamal Haasan wished his fans via twitter, he wrote, “Onam marks the beginning of prosperity and happiness for every Malayalee around the world. It is one festival that transcends its own connotations. May life become colourful and joyful again soon.”

Wishing her fans on Instagram, Shilpa Shetty Kundra wrote, “Onam Ashamsakal… Wishing you all a very Happy Onam🙏🏻🌻🌼🌸🌺🌹🌷 May this auspicious and colorful festival brings in a bountiful amount of blessings, love, and peace into your lives. Namaskaaram🙏🏻”

Sharing a picture of herself in a beautiful Salwar Suit, Priyanmani Raj wished her fans on twitter, she wrote, “all my Malayalam speaking friends and their families a very happy Onam.”

Kunal Kapoor shared on Twitter, “A very happy and prosperous #Onam to everyone. Wishing all prosperity, joy and abundance”

Manjima Mohan took to Twitter and wished fans on Onam. The actor looked gorgeous in a picture she shared on the micro-blogging site.

Nivin Pauly tweeted a picture of himself in a traditional wear with a caption that read, “Wish you all a very happy Onam.”

Onam, marks the beginning of the harvest season for Keralites, is a ten-day festival that ends with Thiruvonam, which, according to tales, is the day demon king Mahabali visits Earth. Despite being a demon, Mahabali was known to be a good king which is why people celebrate his return.

Malayalis celebrate the festival with a nine-course feast called Onasadhya and festivities such as Vallam Kali (boat races), Pulikali (tiger dances), Pookkalam (flower Rangoli), Onathappan (worship), Onam Kali, Tug of War, Thumbi Thullal (women’s dance), Kummattikali (mask dance), Onathallu (martial arts), Onavillu (music), Kazhchakkula (plantain offerings), Onapottan (costumes) and Atthachamayam (folk songs and dance).

President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and home minister Amit Shah, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal also offered their greetings to the public on the occasion of Onam.
