Prateik Babbar wraps up shooting of Kunal Kohli directorial show ‘Project 23’

Actor Prateik Babbar has informed that he has completed shooting of his forthcoming show ‘Project 23’ on social media on Friday. In his post, he thanked entire cast and crew of the show.

Sharing the picture of clapboard of ‘Project 23’ on his Instagram handle, Prateik wrote, “it’s a wrap for yours truly on filming season 1 of this absolute riot of a show!.. yet untitled.. but wow!.. what a ride it’s been!  a ginormous thankyou from the bottom of my heart!.. to my director & captain of our ship!.. my powerhouse co-actors & star cast!.. our generous & hotshot producers!.. & our entire creative & technical team!.. for working relentlessly through this pandemic!.. & following all the necessary covid-19 protocols to the absolute t!.. & yet making me feel the most comfortable & at ease i have ever felt as an actor!.. & on a set!.. what an absolute breeze it’s been!  @lionsgate @lionsgateindia @lionsgateplayin @jar_pictures @kunalkohli @karthiknganesh @larabhupathi @divyasethshah @shinnova_19 @meiyangchang @sid.makkar @castingchhabra stay tuned!”

American cable and satellite television network Starz’s independent OTT platform Lionsgate Play which was launched in India officially in December 2020 has started working on its Indian Originals.

The International streaming platform has kicked off its Indian Originals journey with an untitled comedy-drama series that stars Lara Dutta Bhupathi and Prateik Babbar in the lead. Tentatively titled as ‘Project 23’ is an official Indian adaptation of the 2015 American Television series ‘Casual’ that revolves around a brother and sister relationship. It is directed by Kunal Kohli and produced by Jar Pictures.

‘Project 23’ will see Lara Dutta Bhupathi playing the role of a newly divorced single mother living with her bachelor brother (played by Prateik Babbar) under one roof again. The story is about how they raise a teenage daughter together and support each other through the crazy world of dating. The series set in Mumbai is said to have been beautifully adapted to suit the Indian sensibilities.

Prateik Babbar will also feature in Farhad Samji’s action-comedy film ‘Bachchan Pandey’ alongside Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhimanyu Singh in key roles. The film will theatrically release on 26 January 2022 coinciding with Republic Day.

Prateik is also a part of Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming film titled ‘India Lockdwon’ alongside Sai Tamhankar,

Shweta Basu Prasad, Aahana Kumra, Prakash Belawadi and ZarinShihab in important roles. The film is reportedly inspired by true events that occurred during the Coronavirus related lockdown.
