Sanjay Nigam, uniting the whole industry to support each other through these hard times

Originating from the humble land of Lucknow, Sanjay Nigam is an entrepreneur and a notable personality in the fashion industry. He is the originator of widely renowned brands like Times Fashion week, Pride of UP, India Fashion Awards and La Finesse which held the position as the world’s longest fashion series, he is the originator and owner of Talent Factory.

He is a believer of the aphorism, “helping others is helping yourself,” and has always sought for a way to nurture and tutor new talents in the fashion industry. He is the man behind Indian Fashion awards, which he envisioned to recognize and showcase the efforgs of the individuals belonging to different of the Indian Fashion Industry. He is constantly looking for approaches to guarantee manageable advancement of the industry and reinforce Indian Fashion industry in the global Fashion economy as he feels, that the Indian Fashion industry beautifully resembles the creativity of India and allows one to express their creativity, in a diverse place which gives rise to endless fusions of ideas and cultures.

Mr Sanjay Nigam who is passionate about his work expressed that, each member of the industry, be it a model, a stylist or backstage managers, are the glue that holds the show together, they all add to the glitter of the industry.

Whilst the pandemic has affected the fashion industry and everything has come to a standstill.“Fashion weeks cannot take place because they require large number of people gathering in a single place, nobody is purchasing designer garments because no such social event is taking place and with the current chain of events one can clearly conclude that only the person who is able to adapt, improvise and overcome this situation through changes in his pattern may survive this crisis.” expressed Mr Sanjay Nigam.

These groups of models, stylists, backstage workers etc, who used to work at a daily wage basis have lost their source of income and he feels, “The economic activities in the fashion industry are interconnected and thus deprivation of one has a drastic effect on another. I consider the fashion fraternity as one big family and as such every member of this fraternity is like a family member for me. Everything with which the members of the industry are suffering with pains my heart and I truly believe that things will get better soon.”

To support the Fashion Industry during these harsh times Mr Sanjay Nigam via India Fashion Awards decided to support the fraternity, the models, backstage helpers, technicians and so on by helping each of these individual factions financially for the period of 3 months in addition to which he also organized a fundraiser, for the whole industry to unite and support each other together through these hard times.

“The fraternity needs to look after each other at this point because none of us will survive alone,” Nigam exclaimed on the current scenario of the industry.
