Shefali Shah starts shooting for her second short film ‘Happy Birthday Mummy Ji’

Actress turned filmmaker Shefali Shah has started shooting for her second short film titled ‘Happy Birthday Mummy Ji’ from Thursday. ‘Satya’ actress who is directing the film posted a photo holding the clapboard of ‘Happy Birthday Mummy Ji’ on her Instagram handle and wrote, “In the habit of having babies in twos!!! 2 real, 2 rolly polly and 2 reel.”

Shefali made her debut as a director with her first short film titled ‘Someday’. She had also written and acted in the film but it hasn’t released yet.

‘Someday’ is about a frontline warrior battling a personal tragedy and isolation while, ‘Happy Birthday Mummy Ji’ showcases a completely opposite take on isolation and is a fun, light-hearted film.

Shefali Shah has acted in some notable film such as ‘Satya’, ‘Monsoon Wedding’, ‘Gandhi, My Father’, ‘The Last Lear’, ‘Waqt: The Race Against Time’, ‘Dil Dhadakane Do’, ‘Brothers’ and many others.

On acting front, she will be seen in the second season of Netflix web series ‘Delhi Crime’.

The first season of ‘Delhi Crime’ is based on the aftermath of the 2012 Delhi gang rape. Shefali Shah played the role of Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Police in the series.

It was directed by Richie Mehta and it released on Netflix on March 2019.
