After addressing the erectile dysfunction in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, the makers are back with the next part, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, this one rigorously fights the taboo of a gay couple.
Ayushmann Khurrana dropped the trailer on his social media profile. Ayushmann Khurrana (Kartik Singh) is the obvious lead in a movie and he will be seen romancing Jitendra Kumar (Aman Singh). The cast also includes Neena Gupta, Sunita Rajwar and Maanvi Gagroo in supporting roles.
Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao play the parents of Jitendra, who drowns under the pressures of society and his family’s reputation. On the other hand, our beloved stereotype-breaker Ayushmann Khurrana knocks the ball out of the park with his pseudo superhero outfit and character design. He also pulls off the nose ring exceptionally well.
The film revolves around homophobia and terms it as a disease, rightly so. Ayushmann and Jitendra are seen fighting all the odds to have a ‘happy ending’ for their romance. While Jitendra (Aman) is forced into marrying a girl – and almost agrees to do so – Ayushmann (Kartik) does not falter. A classic climax at a wedding Mandap maintains the fun vibe of the film.
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is set to be released on 21st February, 2020.
