Suhana Khan takes a stand and says ‘END COLOURISM

Our celebs and their families have to often face criticism from the haters at the social media platforms. But sometimes, enough is enough and they have to come forward and take a stand against these haters, trollers and memers. Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan has always been attacked for her skin tone. And finally she gave an answer to all those sick people!

Posting a picture of hers on her instagram account, she wrote, “There’s a lot going on right now and this is one of the issues we need to fix!! this isn’t just about me, it’s about every young girl/boy who has grown up feeling inferior for absolutely no reason. Here are just a few of the comments made about my appearance. I’ve been told I’m ugly because of my skin tone, by full grown men and women, since I was 12 years old. Other than the fact that these are actual adults, what’s sad is that we are all indian, which automatically makes us brown – yes we come in different shades but no matter how much you try to distance yourself from the melanin, you just can’t. Hating on your own people just means that you are painfully insecure. I’m sorry if social media, Indian matchmaking or even your own families have convinced you, that if you’re not 5″7 and fair you’re not beautiful. I hope it helps to know that I’m 5″3 and brown and I am extremely happy about it and you should be too. #endcolourism”

Not only this, she also shared some of the screenshots of the comments that people have been posting on her account, where people have mentioned her skin tone to be ‘too dark’ and have called her ‘kaali chudail’, ‘not beautiful’ and  ‘ugly’. Some have also commented that she got surgery to make her skin lighter and she still looks like a man.

Gone are the days, when celebrities used to keep quiet after receiving nasty comments from haters. These days, they take a stand and talk about it in public.

Kudos to Suhana for shutting the mouths of such people in the most subtle way!

She has responded constructively which was the need of the hour! Haters gonna hate but sometimes it becomes imperative to put them in their place!
