Sylvester Stallone And James Pay Respect To Brain Dennehy

Hollywood veteran actor Brian Dennehy, his rugged build, good-guy demeanor and no-nonsense approach meshed in an array of memorable roles for film, television and the theatre has passed away at the age of 81.

Known for iconic role in First Blood, Brian has Two Tony Awards under his belt and also starred on TV as basketball coach Bobby Knight, Chicago cop Jack Reed and serial killer John Wayne Gacy.

Action superstar Sylvester Stallone remembered his co-star from his debut movie and wrote, “The great actor Brian Dennehy has passed away. He simply was A brilliant performer … He also was a Vietnam vet that helped me very much building the character of RAMBO The world has lost a great artist. #First Blood”

Dennehy played the sheriff in Washington state who doggedly pursues Vietnam veteran John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) in First Blood (1982) and a district attorney who’s out to save his own skin in the Harrison Ford-starrer Presumed Innocent (1990).

Veteran actor James Woods also shared a passing message for Brain, he wrote, “I’m just devastated to hear we lost my beloved friend and colleague, #BrianDennehy. We were partners on two of my favorite films, Split Image and Best Seller. I’ve never laughed so hard as we did every day on the set or off. For a big “tough guy,” he was a sweetheart. #RIPBrian”
