The new Commando Frogman was developed in collaboration with military and law enforcement expert Andrea Micheli, who helped create the Luminox Recon Line. The Commando Frogman is aimed at all military, police and commercial divers, as well as outdoor enthusiasts, as it’s rugged enough to withstand just about anything, yet at 46mm, it is wearable in any situation.
The uni-directional “Dive Time” bezel of the Commando Frogman is special. Not only can it display how much time you have left underwater, it has a no-decompression scale, so you can calculate how much time you can spend at what depth without having to decompress.
The Commando Frogman comes in a Carbonox™ case that is water-resistant to 200 meters, with a battleship grey dial and Navy-style numbers and a military time scale. Carbonox™ is a carbon-based material exclusive to Luminox – light, hypoallergenic and extremely durable and resistant.
The most tactical watch in the Luminox range, the Commando Frogman comes complete with a Commando compass marking on the stainless-steel screw-down case back, Luminox Light Technology (LLT) throughout, including one LLT on the bezel, and it is lightweight and extremely comfortable.
The LLTs guarantee ultimate night vision for up to 25 years through their use of tritium tubes. Unlike other luminosity systems, which depend on exterior light sources to charge luminous paint or a pushbutton to illuminate the watch, the luminosity is built right into Luminox watches, ensuring that you will always be able to see the time, no matter the conditions.
The Frogman is the nickname for combat divers, which comes from their frog kick swim style.
