The first official trailer for “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance” from Netflix is here and this one is super cool!
It is a prequel to the Jim Henson film The Dark Crystal (1982). There will be ten episodes and the series will explore the world of Thra created for the original film.
The story follows three Gelflings—Rian, Brea and Deet—who inspire a rebellion against the Skeksis when they discover a horrifying secret behind their power that threatens their world of Thra.
The trailer offers a good look at the Gelflings, their conniving foes, the Skeksis, and the sage Mystics. As one would expect from a Jim Henson Company-produced series, the puppets are impressively detailed and animated—and the world they occupy, Thra, is a marvel to behold.
The dubbing artist ensemble is incredible and talented, including names such as Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nathalie Emmanuel, Donna Kimball, Helena Bonham Carter, Harris Dickinson, Toby Jones, Lena Headey, Alicia Vikander, Mark Strong, Sigourney Weaver and many more.
Netflix’s prequel series to Jim Henson’s 1982 film debuts on August 30.
