Working With Irrfan Khan Was An Learning Experience Says Kiku Sharda

Comedian and actor Kiku Sharda, who shared the screen space with Irrfan Khan in Angrezi Medium, says working with Paan Singh Tomar star was a learning experience.

Talking about working with Irrfan Khan in Angrezi Medium, Kiku Sharda said, “I met Irrfan Khan during Kapil Sharma Show; he was there to promote Hindi Medium. After the show, he called me and praised my work. So it was quite thrilling and humbling. Later when I did the movie with him, I was hesitant about shooting the scene with him, but Irrfan’s process and craft is remarkable. He puts people at ease, work with his surroundings. I knew it that I will learn a lot from Irrfan Khan when I signed the movie and that’s exactly what happened. He is quite an institution himself”

Homi Adajania helmed father-daughter drama also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Radhika Madan, Deepek Dobriyal, Dimple Kapadia and more.

Talking about his love for realistic genre and working with Homi, actor Kiku said, “I liked Homi Adajania’s work, he has such a unique and versatile way to narrating a story. I have been working in all sorts of genre, from fiction to slapstick comedy, to show, reality show but I have never worked in such a genre before which was different and realistic. I am big fan of realistic genre, movies which are based in small town, in real space with real characters. So yeah it’s been fun to work in Angrezi Medium”

Kiku Sharda is part of The Kapil Sharma Show ensemble. He portrays various roles including Santosh and Bumper and his very famous character Baccha Yadav.

Talking about missing work during this lockdown period, he said, “I miss shooting. I enjoy the whole process of making people laugh, because you laugh as well. I miss the writing sessions where the crazy ideas are thrown around, so I do miss my work but I have to understand that there is indeed a crazy virus going around and the way it’s been multiplying, it’s scary”

“I mean what you to contribute, all you got to do is sit at home and be safe. It’s not difficult to sit at home, but yes, having said that, I do feel for daily wagers, who are facing the actual-burnt of lockdown. And I do appreciate all the help and support they are being offered, I have done my bit as well.”
