1 October 2019: Sushi and More, Mumbai’s very first Japanese delivery kitchen turned 12 last month! To many of us, Sushi and More has delivered fresh and authentic Japanese food at our doorstep so that one can relish it while in the comforts of the home. With their avant-garde and cutting-edge food, Sushi and More has always strived to introduce to the Indian consumers to the globally applauded Japanese cuisine with mouth-watering combinations and flavors.
Sushi and More kick-started in India by 2007. Back then, it was launched by the parent company Maidoindia helmed by Mr. Hakuei Kosato (also popularly known as Mr. Harry Cheng) of La Ditta Ltd, Japan. From Seaweed to Japanese pickles and even Sake, Kosato test-marketed several products before launching India’s first Sushi takeaway & delivery format. The intention while launching the same in India was to popularize Japanese cuisine and make it more accessible and affordable. Kosato along with the Indian Director, Anuj Jodhani were the only ones who dared to venture in this niche cuisine back then!
On this occasion, Mr. Hakuei Kosato commented: “What started as a small takeaway store in Breach Candy, is now a completely independent business in India. Our mission was and will always be to bring Japan closer to India!”
Incepted only as a small delivery kitchen, Sushi and More has now spread their roots across the city with 2 delivery kitchen at Tardeo and Juhu and 3 kiosks inside the most popular gourmet store, “Foodhall” in Mumbai. Serving mouth-watering Sushi’s, Tempuras, Miso Soup, Donburi bowls and Bento Boxes, if you are a fan of Japanese cuisine, then their whole menu will give you a wholesome delight of Japan while sitting in the comfort of your home!
Anuj Jodhani, on achieving this milestone says “Even though we started our journey 12 years ago, we feel this is only the beginning!
