La Folie, the French patisserie, chocolaterie and bakery café brand run by Chef Sanjana Patel, has collaborated with dynamic young designer Nishka Lulla, on gifting options that are perfect for the festive season! These creative dynamos from the F&B and fashion industries respectively, have come together to offer an excitingly chic new range that will please both culinary and sartorial aesthetes.
The collaborative collection features Nishka Lulla’s signature aesthetic on packaging such as a hat box hamper; wrappers of two chocolate bars; and one sleeve design. Perfectly celebratory, the designs are all about vibrant colour, power pastels, bohemian motifs and metallic mirror foiling.
What’s more, Nishka worked closely with Chef Sanjana Patel, creating the flavours of the two chocolate bars that she has also designed the packaging for. These are in flavours that both ladies love and associate with festive celebrations. The first flavor is Rose, Cardamom and Pink Peppercorn Dark Chocolate, a dreamy bar made of Adiosmac-Guatemala cacao that exudes floral notes of Indian rose petals paired with ambrosial flavours of green cardamom and a hint of pink peppercorn, to finish off on the palate; and the second is Mango Caramel and Naga Chili Dark Milk Chocolate, pairing the nostalgic flavours of mango candy with the heat of the Bhut Jolakia Naga chili. This bar is crafted with Oko Caribe cacao (from the Dominican Republic) which has naturally occurring flavours of tropical fruits and caramel.
Sanjana Patel shares a special relationship with chocolate – one of reverence, love and discovery. As the Creative Director and Executive Chef at La Folie, she showcases her passion for chocolate in a plethora of original, haute couture-style renditions of French delicacies. With knowledge and expertise refined for over two decades, today Sanjana is a revolutionary force in the art of modern pastry and chocolate-making.
In her latest pursuit to discover an authentic expression of real chocolate, Sanjana has transformed from a chocolatier to a bean-to-bar chocolate maker. Her quest for the finest-origin beans has led her to cacao farms across four continents. A staunch follower of ethical trade, Sanjana’s creations brim with exuberant, natural flavours and her intense desire to share the magnificence of real chocolate.
Nishka Lulla, the name which has set a distinct identity, of a supreme, young, crisp and a leading dynamic designer, is the brain-child behind two established lines of clothing: “Nisshk,” the traditional fusion line and “Nishka Lulla,” the boho traveller chic prêt-e-porter line.
The collaborative chocolates have been made at La Folie’s new bean to bar chocolate factory in Mumbai.
The collection will be available from October 16, 2019 until the end of the festive season at La Folie Lab (Bandra), La Folie Du Chocolat (Kala Ghoda and [email protected] Road), and on Scootsy. Chocolate bars are priced at Rs. 362 plus taxes and hampers start at Rs. 1925 plus taxes.
