Brands are what make remarkable things in any form of industry. People go for branded things when they want to purchase anything in their life. With its labelled name, we would go for it and buy it. While some of us have our favourite brands, we do not seek the real history behind the brand or where the label comes from. We just judge everything and move on but when you realize the truth or history behind it, you would be amazed. So, In India, most of us are thinking that brands with foreign names are actually international brands and we start to categorize things in such away. Well, we are deliberately mistaking Indian brands as International brands. So, here are a few Indian brands mistaken as International brands.
Top Indian Brands mistaken as International Brands:
Peter England:
We all might have been familiar with this brand as it is a famous menswear brand throughout the country. Being a part of Madura Fashion & Lifestyle, a division of the Aditya Birla group, Peter England is one of the leading brands of India.
Royal Enfield:
Historically, Royal Enfield was a British motorcycle manufacturing company. Howbeit, it is presently a part of Eicher Motors Limited which is an Indian automaker with factories in Chennai. So, ride it proudly with complete Indianess!

Allen Solly:
Often mistaken as an international brand as per the name, Allen Solly is a subsidiary of the Aditya Birla Group. Like Peter England, this national brand is also famous all over the country. Being a premium apparel brand, it is licensed under Madura Garments. Unlike Peter England, Allen Solly proffers garments for both men and women.
Monte Carlo:
Once we heard the name, we would remember the most-loved Hollywood movie acted by Selena Gomez and the movie titled “Monte Carlo”. Obviously, we would mistake the brand for an international one though. Established in 1984, Monte Carlo is a leading clothing brand for both men and women in India. Well, it has been famously known for its woollen apparel across the country. However, this Italian brand name was selected for the Indian customer base as their fascinations for foreign brands grow. Meanwhile, this is completely an Indian woollen brand from the Ludhiana-based Nahar Group.
Da Milano:
This amazing brand has been providing high-end leather accessories and home furnishings nationally and internationally. But you should never mistake it by its Italian name as it is totally an Indian brand.
Amrut Single Malt:
Ranked as the world’s third-best single malt, Amrut Single Malt is a fine drink that is brewed and bottled at the Amrut distillery in Bangalore. So, never go by its name.
La Opala:
As it is one of the leading crockery brands in India, La Opala is often mistaken as an international brand due to its French name. But it is completely an Indian company.
Chandon Wine:
The brand is owned by French specialists Moet Hennessy and it has been the same as that of the other amazing premium wines of the Indian market. However, the important difference is that it is purely produced with grapes grown some hundred kilometres outside of Mumbai. And so it is purely an Indian brand!
Hidesign:
Well, this brand is a Pondicherry-based leather goods manufacturer. If you are not aware of the fact that Tamil Nadu’s tanneries are supplying leather products and accessories to some of the famous as well as biggest brands worldwide, then you have got to know it.
Louis Phillippe:
Launched in 1989, the brand is completely an Indian one. Like Peter England, Louis Phillippe is also owned by Madura Fashion and Lifestyle.
Flying Machine:
This brand is owned by Arvind mills’ garments division and it is totally an Indian one as the company transformed the homegrown jeans brand.
