Priya Manikandan and V. Manikandan’s daughter Abyukta Manikandan presented her Bharathanatya Arangetram on 15th August 2019 at The Music Academy.
Pandiarajan, Hon’ble Minister of Tamil Development, Culture and Archeology, and Mr. K. Saravanan, Counsel General of Malaysia for South India were the Chief Guests for the evening.
Actors Ramya Krishnan, Priya Anand and Dr Sam Paul lit the kuthuvilakku at this wonderful occasion. Also present at the Arangetram were Actor Suhasini Maniratnam, Director Priyadarshan, Dr Mariazeena Johnson, Guru Vasanthalakshmi Narasimhachari and Dr Kamala Selvaraj, the Associate Director of GG Hospital
Born in a family with a rich legacy of fine arts, Abyukta took to dance like a fish to water from the tender age of 6. Abyukta has been with Guru A Lakshmanaswamy for 7 years and has actively participated in all his group performances. Her interest is not confined only to dance but she has also learnt Carnatic music under the tutelage of Smt. Girija for the past 10 years. She also plays the piano and is a trained western classical singer. Abyukta passed out with flying colours from Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan School where fine arts are nurtured and encouraged as part of all round development of students. An avid debater, she was a member of her school debating society and also proudly represented her school in an inter-cultural exchange program to Luxembourg. Abyukta has performed in the Mahabalipuram dance festival and in RR Sabha and is a recipient of the prestigious Savithri Ganesan Memorial Rolling Shield for creative and artistic talent. She is currently pursuing BBA LLB at OP Jindal Global Law School in Sonipat.
