The makers of ‘Dostana 2’ confirmed actor Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor being the lead in the film and now announces that newbie Lakshya is the third lead actor in the film.
Filmmaker Karan Johar will bring a new face to Dostana 2. He introduced actor Lakshya, who will make his debut with the sequel. He will star alongside Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor in the film.
Sharing pictures of Lakshya on social media, Karan wrote: “Both happy and excited to introduce the new kid on the Dharma block! LAKSHYA will be making his debut with us in #DOSTANA2 and from thereon, we hope to start a solid cinematic journey together! Please welcome #Lakshya and shower him with all your love and blessings…”
Netizens, who assumed that Lakshya must be a star kid, just slammed Karan Johar once again for promoting nepotism in the film industry. Which is not true, Lakshay hails from a non-filmy background and has worked in television before.
Filmmaker Karan Johar again took to his social media and hit back, tweeting, “Yes I woke up to several inquiries asking about his film industry connections!!! He is NOT from the business and went through a legit audition process!! Am grateful to Shanoo Sharma for introducing LAKSHYA to @DharmaMovies”
Now, while Dharma has indeed introduced Lakshya simply by his first name, several users pointed out that he could be the actor Lakshya Lalwani, who headlined Sony TV’s historical drama Porus.
