Central Board of Film Certification gets a revamp with a new logo and certificate design

Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar in Mumbai on Saturday unveiled the new logo and certificate design of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The new logo was shared on social media by various members of the film industry. The new certificate design has a new QR code keeping in mind the digital world.

At the event Minister revealed, they are going to amend the Cinematograph Act in order to curb piracy and will take more actions to protect the rights of artists. The event was attended by  Vidya Balan, Kangana Ranuat, Satish Kaushik, Madhur Bhandarkar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Boney Kapoor, Ramesh Sippy, Subhash Ghai, Sudhir Mishra, Sanjay Khan, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Prahlad Kakkar, Kiran Shantaram, Kunal Kohli and more.

Commenting on the new design, Joshi at the event said, ‘the design reflects the contemporary digital world and brings the ease of technology into the process.’ He also added CBFC wishes to incorporate more transparency and a smoother process for the filmmakers.
