Emmy nominations 2022: From Squid Game to Pam and Tommy – Full List

The Emmy nominees for this year were announced just a few hours ago, and no one can seem to stop talking about it (and we don’t blame them). Many fans of underappreciated series were dismayed by the low number of nominations. But that doesn’t mean the shows, stars, and producers nominated for Emmys 2022 aren’t deserving. Let’s take a brief look at some of the most notable nominees before diving into the complete list, shall we?

Succession is up against Squid Game, Euphoria, Better Call Saul, Ozark, Severance, Stranger Things, and Yellowjackets in the highly praised Drama Series section. The show Succession has two positions in the Lead Actor in a Drama Series category: Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong, who will compete with Jason Bateman (Ozark), Lee Jung-Jae (Squid Game), Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), and Adam Scott (Severance).

In the Best Supporting actress in a Drama Series category, Sarah Snook and J. Smith-Cameron seem to be competing against Patricia Arquette (Severance), Julia Garner (Ozark), Jung Ho-yeon (Squid Game), Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets), Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul), and Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria). Nicholas Braun, Kieran Culkin, and Matthew Macfayden are up for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, competing against Billy Crudup (The Morning Show), Park Hae-soo (Squid Game), John Turturro (Severance), Christopher Walken (Severance), and Oh Yeong-su (Squid Game).

Squid Game, a South Korean series wherein the underprivileged are used as human fodder for harsh games, received 14 nominations, including several in the above mentioned categories. Pam & Tommy, an FX series based on the true event of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s honeymoon sex film being stolen and exposed to the public, topped the Limited Series category. Lily James was nominated for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her depiction of blonde beauty Anderson, and Sebastian Stan was nominated for Best Actor for his representation of Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee.

In the meantime, Ted Lasso topped the comedy categories with compassion, getting a solid 20 nominations, including an opportunity to return as the Best Comedy Series. Hacks and Only Murders In The Building came in second and third, with 17 nominations each.
