PM Narendra Modi praises ‘Coolie No. 1’ team for making sets plastic-free


Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan currently are shooting for their upcoming film, Coolie No.1′ the David Dhawan team recently announced they went plastic-free on the sets. PM Narendra Modi later went on to praise the team for making the right decision.

Earlier this month Varun had tweeted that the team will only be using steel bottles, he wrote, “Being a plastic-free nation is the need of the hour and great initiative taken by our prime minister and we can all do this by making small changes. The sets of #CoolieNo1 will now only use steel bottles. @PMOIndia,”

Replying to his tweet on Thursday, PM Modi wrote, “Superb gesture by the team of #CoolieNo1! Happy to see the film world contributing towards freeing India from single-use plastic.” On September 10 the PM has called for a global boycott of plastic at a United Nations event in Greater Noida.

Varun had shared a picture on the film’s cast and crew with the plastic-free sippers that at the film’s name written on it.
