The official remake Coolie No 1, starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan in the lead role, kick started its first schedule overseas and now makers of the film welcome newbie Shikha Talsani on board.
After rocking the silver screen with her nuanced performance in “Veere Di Wedding” actress Shikha Talsania will be seen proving her comic chops in Coolie No 1.

Coolie No. 1 is directed by David Dhawan and produced by Vashu Bhagnani. A remake of the 1995 film of the same name, the film stars Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan, and follows a rich girl who falls in love with a poor coolie much to the disapproval of her father.
The first look and release date of the film was unveiled and announced on 1 May 2019 respectively. Veteran actor Paresh Rawal was confirmed to reprise the role of Malti’s father Hoshiyaar Chand, which was portrayed by the late Kader Khan in the original one.
The film is set to be theatrically released in India on 1 May 2020, on International Workers’ Day.
