Sixteen years ago, on 27 August 2004, Bollywood got its first part of the most loved action thriller franchise- DHOOM. A film that proved that even bad guys can look uber stylish and you can fall in love with them! The film completes its 16 years of release today and Esha Deol who was a part of the film celebrates 16 years of its completion.

Dhoom was the first instalment of the Dhoom franchise and starred Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Esha Deol, John Abraham and Rimi Sen. The film tells the story of a motorbike gang committing robberies throughout Mumbai and the police officer teams up with a motorbike dealer to stop and catch them.
The film was directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and produced by Yash Raj Films. With this film, Yash Raj banner who was known for producing romantic films then, produced an action film after a gap of 16 years post Yash Chopra’s film Vijay in 1988.
The film was a big hit at the box office and it portrayed an all new avatar of a villian in the film. Audience fell in love with John’s look. The ever so famous song ‘Dhoom Machale’ is till date a famous party number!
The success of this film paved its way for the other two instalments of the film, Dhoom 2 was released in 2006 and Dhoom 3 in 2013.
The ardent fans of the franchise are awaiting for the official announcement of its fourth instalment. Well let us wait for that news, till then Dhoom Machale!!
