Film Fraternity Mourns The Demise Of SP Balasubrahmanyam

Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai after testing positive for COVID-19 during the first week of August, passed away today after a long battle with the corona-virus.

The acclaimed singer’s health deteriorated in the last 24 hours and he passed away a few minutes ago today.

Celebrities such as Nani, Dhanush, Shruti Haasan, and more took to their social media profile and mourned the demise of the prolific singers.

Actor Nani wrote, “My heart is broken into a million songs! The only time I called home and told Anju to get Junnu to shoot was when I was shooting with Balu gaaru…told her he needs to have a picture with the Legend. He will be celebrated as long as music lives!”

Actor and singer Shruti Haasan shared, “Deeply saddened by the loss of #SPBalasubramaniam sir.. thank you for your artistry and your kind words. may the halls of heaven be filled with your resplendent voice? You were family and the loss is heartbreaking”

Actor Dhanush wrote, “Rip SPB sir Broken heartBroken heart the voice which will echo in everyone’s house forever, a family member in every household. Ur voice and U will continue to live with us for generations to come. My condolences to his family and dear ones. Thank you sir for everything sir. you will be dearly missed”

SPB, who made his singing debut in 1966 with the Telugu film Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna, was the most prolific singer the country has ever seen.
