I Liked The Idea Of A Show That Is Set In The 18th Century Says Shaheer Sheikh On Paurashpur

Shaheer Sheikh is having a perfect ending to the year. Getting married to his beau Ruchikaa Kapoor, featuring in music videos and now ending the year with the release of Paurashpur, his fans are looking forward to see him as Veer Singh. The actor got candid with us and spoke to use about the show and his character at length.

Talking about his first reaction, when he was offered the show, he said, “Initially when the show was offered to me, I had a very tight schedule so I had to say no to it because of my prior commitments. But eventually, my TV show went off air and I got time to do Paurashpur”

Talking about his character and the show, he added, “I liked the concept of the show, the idea of a show that is set in the 18th century. It is quite challenging to show such detailing so I was quite excited about it”.

About my character Veer, “I would say, in that era also there were men who would use their power and aggression to bring equality in the society. Veer is one such character who wants everyone to be treated equally. He fights for the empowerment of the women. The character in itself is so inspiring that why I wanted to play it.”

Alt Balaji’s Paurashpur tells the story of the medieval city of Paurashpur brimming with crime, corruption and misuse of power. The show also features Shilpa Shinde, Annu Kapoor and Milind Soman. It will stream on Alt Balaji on 29 December.

Shaheer is also soon going to be seen in a music video with Rashami Desai titled ‘Ab Kya Jaan Legi Meri’ which is releasing on 24 December.
