Indian Cricketers Mourn The Demise Of Indian Opener Chetan Chauhan

Former India batsman Chetan Chauhan breathed his last yesterday on Sunday, 16 August. He was diagnosed with Covid-19 in July and was undergoing treatment for the same. He was admitted to a hospital on Friday and owing to multiple organ failure, he was put on immediate ventilator support. The former cricketer died on Sunday and is survived by his wife and his son. He was 73.

This news came as a shock to the whole country and cricket fans. Indian cricketers expressed their grief on his death.

Virat Kolhi tweeted, “Shocked to hear about the passing of Shri Chetan Chauhan Ji. May his soul rest in peace and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

Harbhajan Singh wrote, “Extremely sad to hear about @chetanchauhancr sir..spent a lot of time with him on our tours while he was a manager with team India and @aajtak cricket expert panel. condolences to family and friends. RIP sir. Om Shanti.”

Yuvraj Singh wrote, “Saddened to hear of the passing away of Chetan Chauhan Ji. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. He was a fine opening batsman of his times along with being a wonderful human being. May his soul RIP.”

Virender Sehwag tweeted, “My deep condolences to Chetan Chauhan’s family and well-wishers on his passing. Om Shanti!”

Sachin Tendulkar expressed, “Saddened to hear about the demise of Chetan Bhai. He always had encouraging things to say to me & shared plenty of stories from his cricketing days with the Indian Team. May his soul Rest in Peace.”

Gautam Gambhir too wrote, “Saddened to hear about the demise of Chetan Chauhan Ji. His contribution to the game as well to administration will always be remembered. May God give strength to his family & loved ones!”
