‘Moothon’ Heads To Umbria International Film Festival, Italy

Geetu Mohandas’s film ‘Moothon’ starring Nivin Pauly in the lead role will screen as the opening film at Umbria International Film Festival in Italy on August 5, 2020.

One of the producers of the film Anurag Kashyap shared this news on his social media account. He shared a poster of the film with the screening date. Earlier he also shared that the film is now streaming on ZEE5.

The film ‘Moothon’ which means Elder Brother in English is an action thriller film which was released in 2019. The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas and jointly produced by S. Vinod Kumar, Anurag Kashyap, Ajay G. Rai, and Alan McAlex. The film features a bilingual narrative in the Jeseri dialect of Malayalam and Hindi.

The story of the film revolves around an orphaned young boy named Mulla who leaves his island Lakshadweep and goes to Mumbai to search for his older brother Akbar who left the island due to his sexual orientation. Film’s gripping story makes it a worthy watch. It has an impressive cast which includes Nivin Pauly, Dileesh Pothan, Shashank Arora, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jim Sarbh, Roshan Mathew, and Sanjana Arora.

The film has been beautifully shot which makes it a visual masterpiece.  The film will be screened as the opening film on August 5 at the Umbria International Film Festival in Italy.
