Priyanka Chopra, Adarsh Gaurav and Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘The White Tiger’ gets nominated for Adapted Screenplay in Oscars 2021
Priyanka Chopra alongwith husband Nick Jonas announced the nomination list for Oscars 2021 and the actress was in for a surprise when she had to annnounce her film’s nomination. Yes, Priyanka starrer film ‘The White Tiger’ which was recently released on Netflix has been nominated in the category of the Best Adapted Screenplay.
Director of the film Ramin Bahrani has adapted the film from Aravind Adiga’s prize winning book, by the same name. It is a story of an ambitious Indian driver who uses his wit to escape from poverty and become a entrepreneur.
Priyanka, Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gaurav gave fabulous performances in the film and all three are super elated for this nomination. The three took to their respective social media accounts to congratulate the team for this big achievement.
Priyanka wrote, “We just got nominated for an Oscar!Congratulations Ramin and team #The WhiteTiger. Somehow announcing the nomination myself made it so much more special. So so proud!”
While Rajkummar also wrote, “We are nominated for the #OSCARS Congratulations #RaminBahrani and team #TheWhiteTiger.”
Adarsh wrote, “Officially part of an Oscar nominated film! Ramin Bahrani! You are a legend! So proud of the entire team. Congratulations everyone!”
The Oscars, which were supposed to be held in February 2021 were delayed this year owing to Coronavirus. The final event will now take place on April 25.
