Just last week, content driven performer actor Vijay Sethupathi confirmed the biopic on cricketer Muthiah Muralidaran and now the makers are out with the title and poster of the film.
The film will be directed by MS Sripathy and bankrolled by Movie Train Motion Pictures. The film is titled 800, an apt title as ace-bowler is among handful of cricketers who actually have 800 wickets to their credit.
The official hand of Movie Train Motion Pictures dropped the poster on social media. They tweeted, “The success we know, but the journey we don’t! The motion poster for the film will be unveiled during an IPL match today, evening. Spinner Muttiah Muralitharan’s soon-to-be released biopic ‘800’ will feature Vijay Sethupathi portraying the Sri Lanka bowler’s role in it.
Muttiah Muralitharan is considered one of the greatest bowlers in the history of cricket and the biopic’s name ‘800’ is a tribute to the number of wickets he has taken in Test cricket.
Vijay Sethupathi had been taking lessons from Muttiah Muralitharan some time back and in an earlier interview, he had stated how happy he was to have been associated with the iconic bowler.
The cast and crew have not yet been announced for the biopic apart from the confirmation of Vijay Sethupathi as the main lead.
