India is reeling under the devastating second wave of the pandemic which has strained the country’s health infrastructure, actor Anupam Kher joined hands with Global Cancer Foundation, USA and Bharat Forge, India to start an initiative called ‘Project Heal India’ with an aim to provide medical aid and other relief to needy in these unprecedented times.
Talking about his initiative with Newshelpline, the actor said, “Anupam Kher Foundation started in 2008, to help underprivileged kids, but right now our country is reeling under corona-virus and to extend our support and help, we have started project Heal India. The purpose of this project is to offer medical equipment to the needy; we’ve identified a lot of hospitals and sending them oxygen concentrators, ventilators and more, within our capabilities”
Further adding, Anupam said that we all need to come together and help one another as responsible citizens of this country. “I think most of the citizens are thinking right now to help the next citizen so that they can breathe properly. We must spread positivity rather than negativity with our help and that is our main objective”.
When asked about people dying from the lack of medical infrastructure and there is wide spread fear and panic across the nation, Anupam said, “That is reality, see you can sit at home and be scared to death, or you could help people in need, we must help one another. No one is responsible for this pandemic, the entire world is reeling under it. I have seen devastation in America, Europe and other foreign countries due to this pandemic. We can help people; we can offer them compassion, some hope and equipment”
Organisations will provide critical equipment and other life-supporting devices to needy institutions and hospitals across India.
The first consignment of CrossVent Ventilators (ICU Critical Care), Medtronic Ventilators, ResMed non-invasive ventilation devices and oxygen concentrators are expected to arrive in India within the week.
