Pick an unscented lotion to avoid mixing of smells thus giving attention only to the perfume. Rub the moisturizer or lotion to the spot where you will spray the perfume, this acts as a bind to help the perfume stick to your skin.

There are a couple of reasons why this method is the best. Applying directly on your body will be activated by your natural body heat thus keeping it stay for longer period of time. When you apply perfume directly on the clothes it can lead to yellow/white stains and also can damage the material.
