The first official teaser/trailer of Mamangam is out, the film stars legendary actor Mammootty in the leading role. The film follows the story of Chaaverukal warriors who plot to overthrow the Zamorin rulers. The film also stars Prachi Tehlan.
Mamangam is a forthcoming historical period drama film directed by M. Padmakumar. The film is about historical Mamankam festival of the 18th century in the banks of the Bharathappuzha at Thirunavaya, in the Malabar region.
Set in 1695, the teaser shows how the festival of Mamangam was celebrated in the grandest way during that era. It gives a sneak-peek into the life of Unni Mukundan and a young Prachi Tehlan.
Mamangam will showcase Mammootty as a mysterious character, in a never seen before avatar. The period film will portray a distinct tale and also showcase Kalari, the oldest martial art in the world unlike anything seen on screen before!
The film, which was originally shot in Malayalam, will have simultaneous releases dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
Kavya Film Company presents Mammootty in Mamangam: History of the Brave. Produced by Venu Kunnapilly and directed by M Padmakumar, the film is set to hit the silver screen in 2019
